The Drive Unit

The heart of Seacycle and Water Bike is the compact, highly efficient and patented drive unit.

Years of gruelling testing by rental operators using  Seacycle and Water Bike up to 2,000 hours per year has resulted in the uniquely durable drive system.

The drive unit will automatically kick up and lock in the up position if it encounters a submerged object or upon contact during shore landing. Maintenance requirements are virtually nil.

Four sets of stainless steel ball bearings at both the upper and lower thrust areas assure smooth operation and long life.
